Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and Bookish where we get a new topic for a top 10 list.
So many book and not nearly enough time to read them all. 2017 is shaping up to be a great year for debut authors and an even better year for the readers that get to experience their books. Here are 10 of my most anticipated debut books of 2017.
1. The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas: Inspired by the Black Lives Matter movement, The Hate U Give us is incredibly relevant to today’s social climate. This book will undoubtedly be emotional, thought provoking and delves into the racial discrimination that continues to plague this world.
2. Girl Out of Water by Laura Silverman: Admittedly, this selection was initially due to a case of cover love but the book itself sounds like a sweet journey with a lot of interesting family dynamics.
3. It Started With Goodbye by Christina June: A modern twist on Cinderella is always going to garner some attention and if done right can definitely be a major hit.
4. Gilded Cage by Vic James: You can’t have too many fantasy series to indulge in. Deception, lies and the possibility of some epic family tension, Gilded Cage sounds magical and gritty.
5. Wait for Me by Caroline Leech: A forbidden World War II romance set in Scotland. Again, need I say more?
6. When Dimple Met Rishi by Sandhya Menon: This book sounds hilarious and fun and a great chance to explore Indian culture and traditions.
7. Caraval by Stephanie Garber: Possibly one of the most hyped about books of the year so far. If the book is any bit as magical as the cover then we’re in for a treat.
8. Wintersong by S. Jae-Jones: Goblins? Sounds good to me. It also sounds like there’s a great sisterhood between our main character and her sibling.
9. Empress of a Thousand Skies by Rhoda Belleza: Perhaps my most anticipated fantasy debut, Empress of a Thousand Skies looks to be an epic tale of vengeance and legacy. Sign me up!
10. The Hidden Memory of Objects by Danielle Mages Amato: This concept sounds all kinds of epic. Every object has a story to tell and what I wouldn’t give to hear some of their tales. With the apparent suicide of her brother looming over her head, Meagan is looking to uncover the truth with the objects her brother held dear to him.
7,9 and 10 sound great. That number 10 is a very unique idea. I’ll add them to the list! 🙂

Number 10 is definitely my kind of book. It’s a concept that I’ve always thought about so I’m excited to see how it’s executed.

I thought it’d be hard to find new debuts for the year but I was clearly wrong. Trying to find time to read all these books will be the challenge for this year haha.
