Top Ten Tuesdays: Books I Grew To Love

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and Bookish where we get a new topic for a top 10 list.

This week is all about the books that grew on us. Some books are a hit from the first chapter but others take their time in building up that attachment. I think those books that get off to a slow starts are the ones that end up staying with us because when we finish it’s easier to appreciate the time it took to lay the foundations that made the books so incredible in the end. Here are the books I grew to love.

Top Ten Tuesday: Must Meet Authors

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and Bookish where we get a new topic for a top 10 list.

Not so long ago I wrote a post on my dream book conference panel. We all have authors we’d love to meet in person. Unfortunately for me, most authors that do a UK book tour tend to stick to the major cities, meaning that I’d have to commute at least 2/3 hours to the closest destination. One of these days I will go to a bookish event, so with that in mind here are the authors I’d love to meet.

Dream Book Conference Panel

Happy Monday to you all. We all have a list of authors we would love to meet. Fortunately in this day and age conferences and conventions are a regular occurrence in certain areas. The idea of this post is to share my ideal panel for a book conference.  For this dream panel, I’ve divided the authors into categories by genre and explain why they make up my dream panel.

Top Ten Tuesday: Books I Picked Up on a Whim

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and Bookish where we get a new topic for a top 10 list.

I love going into a book blind and it’s something I don’t do as much as I use to, which sucks sometimes because there’s nothing better than jumping into a book blind. With no expectations and hopes, I find that picking up a book on a whim is just such a fun experience because it’s just so unpredictable, like you’re jumping into the unknown.

As I was looking at the list of books I’ve read this year I noticed that I’ve read a lot more series than I thought I had. A lot of the books this year are also marked as the first book I’ve read by some authors. Here are my favourites.

Quick Review: Neverwhere & Stardust by Neil Gaiman

I’m ashamed to admit that until now I had never read a Neil Gaiman book. Thankfully a family friend lent me two of his books to serve as my introduction to Gaiman’s work. I can safely say that after reading both of these books I will be making it my mission to read the rest of his work.
