June Wrap Up 2019

Breaking news, this girl right here finally finished a book. It only took 2 and a half months, but I made it to the final page of Strange the Dreamer and it was as wonderful and magical as I expected it to be. Not gonna lie, the satisfaction of finishing a book was immense, but now I’m back to square one with a conflict on which book to read next.

In other news, June was a pretty standard month for me. More work and not enough play, but those random days off were well spent with good company. In terms of blogging, I’ve not been as active as usual, but I was proud of myself for publishing a discussion post and while it’s been a long time since my last book review, I was very satisfied with the outcome of my latest one. May & June Wrap Up 2018

Just a warning, this will be a long one. I completely forgot to schedule a wrap up for May and figured I’d make this one a double whammy.  A lot has happened in the last two months. I don’t even know where to start. Now that I’m back home, my Canadian adventure feels like a dream. I genuinely had the best time out there and am already itching to go back.

I wasn’t very active in the blogosphere during the holiday and it was nice to have that little break from the blog. I still checked in every now and then, but that was out of choice instead of that feeling of obligation. The break was just what I needed to revive my enthusiasm for blogging. I came back from the trip with fresh ideas for the blog.

Now, in preparation for this trip, I ended up stocking my kindle with a bunch of different titles and packed two books with me thinking I’d do some bedtime reading at some point. That did not happen and I read a total of one book on the holiday. However, since coming home I’ve found a new motivation to read and ended up speeding through To Kill a Kingdom.

June Wrap Up 2017

I don’t like how fast this years going. It feels like we’ve just gone ahead and skipped the months of February to May. I’m happy to report that June has been another good reading month for me. I’m not someone that can read over 10 books a month, my mood reading is to unpredictable, but considering how slumpy a reading year I’ve had so far, 5 books is a major success. Life has been unsurprisingly uneventful this month. All I’ve really done is work and read. Exciting times. I’ve been craving an adventure as of late but sadly I don’t think I’ll be having one until next year.

Here are the 5 books I read in the month of June. As you can see I’ve been on a Katie McGarry kick lately and her books are so addictive and swoon-worthy, you simply can’t resist them. Crash Into You was my favourite in the series and for those of you that have read it you’ll know why. 😉 After exhausting my collection of Katie McGarry books I had an urge to read another fantasy and A Crown of Wishes was just what I was looking for. It had a strong hate to love dynamic between our two main characters and the world/writing was so magical.

June Wrap Up 2016

Goodbye June. You’ve had your flying visit and now we have to welcome in July. I feel like I have finally come out of my reading slump and I’m more motivated to read again. I think my book choices had a big hand in this because I’m such a mood reader but for the past few months my mood has not been giving me a clear direction to which books to pick up.

In non-bookish news, there’s not much report. I’ve basically just spent the month working and fine tuning the details for my New Zealand trip in September. I will say that Game of Thrones has consumed me these past few weeks and now that the season 6 finale has come and gone you can expect to see a length TV Talk on it in the next few days.

Back to the books. I enjoyed all three of these books I read. Each one was so different from one another but were incredibly captivating.
