January Wrap Up 2018

I think I’ve reached that point where writing 2018 comes naturally to me now, but I’ve decided that 2018 starts in February. Why? Because I was sick for most of January along with the rest of my family. Thankfully, I dodged the worst of it and was hit with a chesty cough instead of the full flu so I was still on the go at work, which was very busy.

So, I’m still in a slump. I managed to read a total of one book in January, The Language of Thorns. I loved the book. I thought the tales were twisted, dark, and wonderful. The illustrations accompanying the stories further enhanced the reading experience and brought the tales to life. However, I’ve still not been in the mood to read, but I’m hoping I can break this slump soon.

With regards to the blog, I am still not as active as I use to be and that is in part to do with the slump and also down to the fact that January was such a busy month for me. Here’s a recap of my month.

January Wrap Up 2017

We have officially come to the end of the first month in 2017. Did I achieve any of the goals I set on New Years Eve…no. Instead I was hit by an absolutely horrible reading slump. I’m surprised I even managed to finish Stars Above.

I did find some other hobbies to indulge in during this slump. By that I mean I basically binge watched a bunch of TV shows and films in that time. So on that front, I will say that I developed a bit of an addiction to Yuri On Ice. Now, I’ve not watched a lot of anime shows but I’d heard so much buzz about this show that I thought I should give it a shot and now I’m hooked and am basically making everyone I know watch it as well.

Besides that, my life has basically consisted of TV shows, work and a no reading whatsoever. Sad times. Here is my monthly recap.

January Wrap Up 2016

Goodbye January, you have come and gone in the blink of an eye.

This month has been average in terms of reading but it’s still better than nothing. One of my goals for 2016 is to find a good balance between the contemporary/fantasy ratio because I didn’t read as many contemporary books as I’d have liked in 2015.

As always my mood reading decides what book I pick up next. January was all about contemporary books. These three books were all so different from one another and they really reminded me of everything I love about contemporary books.
