January Wrap Up 2019

Here we go again. January has flown by in the blink of an eye and it’s like we never rang in a New Year. January wasn’t a bad month for me. I read and finished a book, started job number 3, and kept researching possible cities to visit. What sucked was getting back into the daily grind of work, more work, and then sleep. If it isn’t obvious, I’m craving an adventure. Luckily, Elantris was a brilliant escape, and Brandon Sanderson came up with a brilliant concept and introduced me to a world of magic and intrigue. It was a great way to kick off my reading year. Here’s what else I got up to in January.

February Goals

Book a trip. I’ve made the decision to do city breaks this year because I know things are going to get, and already are, busy. However, the most frustrating part of it all is booking it. You see, logically I know I can solo travel and I love every minute of it. However, since coming back home it’s like all that can do energy has just been zapped so I need to remind myself that I can do it and I will enjoy it. What I do know is that I plan on going to Berlin sometime this year, maybe in the Spring/Summer, but before that, I might just plan a little city break to Prague or Dublin.

My other goal is to study for my theory test. Now, I will never publically declare when I take the test, but I want to focus a bit more on the revision for my theory test. Luckily, I made the choice to download the official app so it means that during my breaks at work I can do some revising.

Keep reading. I feel like a slump is hitting me again, but I’m more prepared and will happily embrace it. I’m currently reading the Collector’s Edition of Six of Crows and it’s amazing how I forgot about the little details that happened in the book. This is why I love re-reading, even if it’s just a chapter at lunch at the moment.

  1. Thanks for linking back to my post ❤ and I am super excited about your city trips! I hate all the planning and booking and general build up that leads to the actual trip. I just want to step on a plane (or whatever means of transportation) and be done with it haha

  2. Sounds like January was a good month for you Lois! I’m hoping to go to Prague this year, so if you end up going I’ll be asking for recs 😉 I’d also planned to re-read Six of Crows, but I’ve got lots of ARCs and new releases to get to at the moment, so I just don’t have time. Wishing you a happy February, I hope you get somewhere booked to go away 🙂

  4. Thank you so much for linking my post!
I’ve been binge watching instant hotel shows on Netflix and now I want to have a staycation here in Chicago and do some exploring. Good luck with your reading slump! I love rereading books and discovering new details that I missed the first time. (I should totally do that with Six of Crows.)
