Top Ten Tuesday: Books on my Autumn To Read Pile

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and Bookish where we get a new topic for a top 10 list.

I’ve all but given up trying to set a monthly tbr pile because I never stick to them. However, if there’s one thing I am determined to do, it’s to narrow down the list of books that I own and remain unread. I wrote out a list of them a few months ago and I’m not going to lie it looks grim. So many books are gathering dust on my shelf so I’m hoping I can tick off a few more by the end of the year. Here are the ten books that I plan on reading this autumn.

1. The Goal (Off-Campus #4) by Elle Kennedy: I’ve been re-reading The Score this month in the hopes of finally finishing off this series. Tucker has had a quiet presence in these first three books so I’m curious to get an insight into his mind.

2. Strange the Dreamer by Laini Taylor: This is the kind of book I have to be in the right mood for. When I think of autumn, I think of cosy and atmospheric weather. This time of year I always find that I want my books to reflect the atmosphere and anything written by Laini Taylor fulfills that brief.

3. Walk on Earth a Stranger by Rae Carson: I actually forgot I had this book until recently. The concept sounds really interesting and I’ve not yet ventured into the western YA branch so I’m excited to explore this world.

4. Until it Fades by K. A. Tucker: I’m always on the look out for a good sports contemporary romance and after seeing this book pop up on my timeline I found that it’s a book that’s right up my alley.

5. The Secret of a Heart Note by Stacey Lee: A sensory delight. That’s what I’ve heard about this book. I loved Stacey Lee’s Outrun the Moon so I have high hopes for this book as well.

6. Alex, Approximately by Jenn Bennett: I’ve been meaning to read this book since it’s release but my mood keeps fluctuating and I can never guarantee what type of book I gravitate too. I am determined to tick this book off of my tbr pile by the end of the year.

7. The Bird and the Sword by Amy Harmon: It’s all about the atmosphere. This is another book I’ve heard nothing but great things about. It sounds magical and can definitely see it sweeping me off my feet.

8. Invictus by Ryan Graudin: I adored her Wolf by Wolf duology so naturally I am eager to get my hands on this book. Time traveling is a it or miss for me but based on the synopsis, this book sounds like it explores all the elements I love in time travel, it’s complexities and limitation.

9. Second Chance Summer by Morgan Matson: Another book that’s still gathering dust on my bookshelf. It’s the only Matson book I’ve yet to read and I have no idea why it’s still unread. Funnily enough I find that I gravitate towards contemporary books when we’re in that transitional stage between summer and autumn.

10. Rookie Move by Sarina Bowen: Fun fact, since I got my kindle I’ve all but blitzed through the books I have on it. Rookie Move is one of the few books I’ve not read but know I’ll love. Ice hockey is a favourite sport of mine so this book already has a lot going for it.
