Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and Bookish where we get a new topic for a top 10 list.
This week is all about those seemingly never ending to be read piles. I must admit, after going through my tbr list on goodreads, I’ve come to the conclusion that I am in desperate need of a tbr purge because I don’t even remember adding some books to the pile. These are the 10 book that have been added to the pile and I am excited get my hands on all of them.
1. The Secret History of Us by Jessi Kirby: Sadly I’m going to have to wait a while before I can get my hands on this book. The premise had me intrigued and I love the questions of identity that come with these books, especially when a character is trying to find a balance between the person she is now and the person everyone tells her she is.
2. Our Dark Duet (Monster of Verity #2) by Victoria Schwab: An automatic must add to the list, especially now that we’ve been treated to the wonderful book cover. I can’t wait to see what sort of trouble August and Kate get in to in this book.
3. Hunted by Meagan Spooner: I’m a sucker for a good retelling, especially when it’s a Beauty and the Beast retelling. The book cover is stunning and judging from the synopsis, Yeva sounds like a character I’d root for.
4. All Laced Up by Erin Fletcher: I love ice hockey. This is a fact. I have sacrificed a lot of sleep so I can catch these NHL games. I just can’t get enough of the sport. So this book sounds like a match made in heaven for me. With the combination of ice hockey and a potential hate to love romance, All Laced Up is looking to be a major hit for me.
5. Missing by Kelley Armstrong: You can’t go wrong with a good mystery. The hunt for the truth and the suspense in the not knowing make these types of book an addictive read.
6. My Lady Jane by Cynthia Hand, Brodi Ashton, Jodi Meadows: I’ve finally been won over by this book. I was a little wary because my inner historian usually comes into play when reading about actual historic figures in books but I’m told the humour in this book is great and I love a good laugh.
7. The Forgetting by Sharon Cameron: Admittedly this is one book I don’t remember adding to my tbr pile until I read the synopsis. The whole concept of memory and fate fascinates me, so a world that has people’s lives written in stone and I’d like to see how Nadia navigates herself in this world.
8. Half the World (Shattered Sea #2) by Joe Abercrombie: I absolutely loved Half a King. Joe Abercombie did a fantastic job of tying up the first leg of this tale and I can’t wait to see what this next installment has in store for our characters.
9. The Goal (Off-Campus #4) by Elle Kennedy: I’ve still not finished The Score but I’m hoping to have read both of these books by the end of the year. This is such an addictive series. Garrett is still my number 1 guy but I’m sure Tucker will be some tough competition for him.
10. Wait for Me by Caroline Leech: A World War II forbidden romance set in Scotland. What more could you possibly want?
Those are the latest additions to my never ending to be read pile.
Which books have you recently added to the pile?
Our Dark Duet has such a beautiful cover. I still haven’t read This Savage Song but I’ve heard good things!

I absolutely love the covers for this duology and the story is even better. The book is full of morally ambiguous character and the exploration of identity is beautifully executed.

I know. If I could magically make the book appear in my hands this instant I would be in heaven. I need this book but I have to say I need A conjuring of Light more haha.

I am SO excited for Our Dark Duet as well! And I hope you like My Lady Jane – it’s not something to be taken seriously, but it’s just fun. 🙂
And THE GOAL! I hope you like that one too. Garrett is still my favourite, but I have to admit that Tucker’s book just didn’t really grab me at all so that might be why.

My Lady Jane sounds just right for me now. I’m always looking for a book to make me laugh and so many people have commented on the humour that I just have to see what it’s all about haha.
I don’t think any of the other guys will be able to top Garrett. Quite a few people have said The Goal didn’t grab them as much as the others but I’ll still give it a shot, mainly so I can get to know Tucker a bit better.

I think the problem with The Goal is mostly with Sabrina, the female protagonist. I won’t say too much though, I’ll let you read it yourself. 😊

I’m hoping to have read both books by the end of this month but I say this every month haha. Admittedly the main reason I want to read them so much is so I can check in with Garrett and Hannah haha.
