Top Ten Tuesday: Books Gathering Dust on my TBR shelf.

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and Bookish where we get a new topic for a top 10 list.

Oh, how my heart hurts with the thought of all these wonderful books sitting all lonely and wondering when/if they’re ever going to get their chance to shine. Juggling all these new releases with the older ones is a continuous struggle and I’ve given up any attempt to try and organise my tbr shelf. Here are the 10 books that have been sitting on my tbr shelf since before I started blogging and I am making a vow to eventually read these books.

1. Lovely, Dark and Deep by Amy McNamara: This one hurts. Lovely, Dark and Deep has been sat on the shelf for over 3 years now. The book cover is stunning and the story sounds like a beautiful tale of healing. 

2. The Rephaim Series by Paula Weston: I’ve had this series on my radar for a while and I was actually going to read them before I started Angelfall. I don’t know why I didn’t end up reading them but I plan on picking them up soon, especially now that I can read the series in its entirety.

3. Legend Series by Marie Lu: Sadly, I think the reason I’ve yet to pick up this series is because my interest in dystopia novels has been on a steady decline. The concept of the books do sound interesting but it’s one of those that continuously gets lost in the shuffle of all the other books I want to read and usually prioritize over this one.

4. The Darkest Minds by Alexandra Bracken: I’m still interested in reading this series. Again it’s just a matter of time. I still say we need designated reading hours because if we did have them then I’d have read this series ages ago.

5. There Will Come a Time by Carrie Arcos: Again another book that explores the themes of loss and healing. Losing a sibling is never easy but I think losing a twin would be brutal, especially if they were as close as Mark and Grace appear to be in this book.

6. Immortal Beloved by Cate Tiernan: I think this was one of the first series I’d been itching to read after finishing The Hunger Games all these years ago. The idea of these wayward immortals having their own rehabilitation facility makes me chuckle.

7. Stolen Songbird by Danielle L. Jensen: Such a pretty cover. I know that the entire trilogy has been released now so I might just add it to my must binge read list. I think when I first read the synopsis of the book the word “troll” brought up these images of the trolls you find in The Hobbit; ugly, dumb and highly unappealing. However, I’ve come to my senses now and I think it’s high time I read this book.

8. Lux Series by Jennifer L. Armentrout: Alien’s are a hit or miss for me. I’ve read books in the past that have concepts that are so far-fetched you can’t take them seriously. I know a lot of readers love this series and I do want to have read a Jennifer L. Armentrout book by the end of the year.

9. Second Chance Summer by Morgan Matson: This was actually the first Morgan Matson book I’d heard of yet for some reason I’ve still not read the book. I actually have a copy of this book but for some reason I always seem to forget about it. However, I will be ticking this book of the list by the end of the year and that is a promise.

10. His Fair Assassins by Robin LaFevers: I do have the first book in this series and the only reason I’ve not read it yet is because my mood just hasn’t gravitated towards these books. I’ll get to them one day.

Those are the book that are gathering dust on my tbr shelf.
