June Wrap Up 2016

Goodbye June. You’ve had your flying visit and now we have to welcome in July. I feel like I have finally come out of my reading slump and I’m more motivated to read again. I think my book choices had a big hand in this because I’m such a mood reader but for the past few months my mood has not been giving me a clear direction to which books to pick up.

In non-bookish news, there’s not much report. I’ve basically just spent the month working and fine tuning the details for my New Zealand trip in September. I will say that Game of Thrones has consumed me these past few weeks and now that the season 6 finale has come and gone you can expect to see a length TV Talk on it in the next few days.

Back to the books. I enjoyed all three of these books I read. Each one was so different from one another but were incredibly captivating.

In a non bookish post Nisha @ Bookalicious Blogs wrote this insightful post about the UK’s EU referendum vote and the consequences of the verdict we received. I voted to remain and so this result is worrisome and stressful for me and we’ve already seen some of the consequences the leave result has cost us. 

July To Be Read List

Again, I’m not going to set a specific tbr list but I’ve just started reading The Star-Touched Queen and hopefully I can finish that book tonight. 

I will also be reading The Wrath and the Dawn this month with Summer @ XingSings seeing as we’ve both been meaning to read the book for a while now. Hopefully the book lives up to the hype.

Other than that we’ll just have to see what kind of bookish mood I’m in. July is looking to be a very busy month for me work wise but I think I’ve got the hang of scheduling posts now so I might try and utilize that tool a bit more.

I also have a TV dilemma. Now that Game of Thrones has finished I need some TV recommendations to fill the void for the next 10 months. Any suggestions?

I’d say July was a steady blogging month.

    1. I don’t know why but it’s always July that I get that motivational kick. I’m still raving about it and hopefully I can get my thoughts into shape soon so I can finish up my TV Talk post on it this week.

    1. No problem. It was a great post. 😀

      You so should watch it. I resisted until season 3 and everyone was freaking out about something so I decided to take the plunge and now I’m hooked haha. Just a warning, if you do end up watching it don’t get too attached to the characters cause you never know who might end up on the chopping block. I learned this the hard way and I’m still reeling from some of the events haha.

    I hope you and Summer like The Wrath and the Dawn too. I had a lot of problems with that one, but I’d be interested in knowing what you think!

    1. A lot of people in the UK didn’t really understand a lot of the implications of the EU referendum and if I hadn’t have done my own research prior to the election I wouldn’t have the slightest clue on what to vote. Sadly the outcome we got was not the one I wanted and things are pretty chaotic in our government right now.

      We’re starting the book this week and I’m interested in seeing how things play out. I usually like a hate to love romance if they’re done right so we’ll have to wait and see. 😀

      1. I think the outcome was very unfortunate indeed, but ultimately it’s up to the next PM to invoke article 50 of the Lisbon treaty. I’ve also heard that courts are willing to take legal action if the issue isn’t debated in parliament as it should be. Things are very uncertain at the moment.

        I’d say the hate to love in TWatD isn’t properly developed, and (for me) was very unrealistic.

  6. I really want to read This Savage Song and More Happy Than Not!! They sound so amazing. More Happy Than Not was on my TBR for a readathon this week, but I don’t think I’ll be getting to it 😂 Hopefully soon though!!
