Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and Bookish where we get a new topic for a top 10 list.
I think it’s safe to say any reader will have a list of books ready for Santa every year. The hardest part is narrowing down the list to a reasonable number. Here are the books I would love for Santa to deliver to me this Christmas
1. Their Fractured Light by Meagan Spooner & Amie Kaufman: I am beyond excited for this book. I just can’t get enough of Tarver Merendsen. On top of that I need to know how this ends.
2. The Winner’s Curse by Marie Rutkoski: Thankfully the cover change does not effect the UK editions. In spite of the recent drama though, I’ve been excited about this series for a while and the only reason I’ve not read these books is because of the painful cliffhangers I’m told to expect.
3. Something Real by Heather Demetrios: I’ll Meet You There is one of my favourite books. I love her writing and while I’ve been skeptical about the reality TV concept, I feel like I will love this book.
4. Night Owls by Jenn Bennett: Also known as The Anatomical Shape of a Heart, I’ve been hearing nothing but great things about this book. I’m always up for a good contemporary that has a lot of heart and I think this one will be a good match.
5. The Young Elites by Marie Lu: Confession, I have yet to read a Maire Lu book. I know I should be ashamed of myself. Hopefully this situation will change soon and Santa will be kind enough to leave me a copy of this book.
6. Saving Francesca by Melina Marchetta: Melina Marchetta has made her way into the auto buy, all time favourite author list. She can do no wrong. After reading and crying over Jellicoe Road, I’m eager to get my hands on the rest of her books.
7. The Wrath and the Dawn by Renee Ahdieh: Another book that has generated a lot of buzz in the book community. While I’m wary of the hype, the premise of the book sounds fascinating.
8. Air Awakens by Elise Kova: To start, I love the cover of this book. The premise sounds thrilling and I think the journey will be exciting.
9. Truthwitch by Susan Dennard: Magic, friendship, action. adventure. This book just sounds like a recipe for success.
10. This Savage Song by Victoria Schwab: You all know how much I adore Schwab’s writing so there was no doubt that this book would make the list. If Santa feels generous he will hopefully grant me an early copy of this book…please. 😀
Those are but a few of the books I would love Santa to bring this year. What’s on your wish list?
Love your picks! 🙂 Ahh Air Awakens! I approve :’D!! Hope you get them 🙂

It does look interesting and judging by the premise I’m guessing the book explores the reality TV craze which is something I’ve not read about before and sounds fascinating. 😀

That list makes a nice cover gallery. 🙂 I’m intrigued by Truthwitch, I know it got a lot of buzz at BEA and elsewhere and to be honest the premise does sound pretty good. I’m looking forward to that one.

Not going to lie I can’t seem to break the habit of letting the book covers partially influence my decision to buy a book haha. Truthwitch sounds really interesting, I only hope it lives up to the hype. 🙂

The Anatomical Shape of the Heart is such a cute contemporary. I highly recommend it! And I’m so bummed about the Winner’s Curse cover changes. It’s not that I hate the new editions but The Winner’s Kiss isn’t even out yet! I’ll have to buying the rest (I only have The Winner’s Curse at the moment) soon. I’m glad to hear it doesn’t affect the folks that can get the UK editions though. Lovely list, Lois! And I like your new Gravatar photo. 🙂 Happy holidays!

I always feel like I need a good contemporary to turn to after I finish a fantasy series and I’ve heard a lot of great things about the Anatomical Shape of the Heart. There is nothing worse than a cover change in the middle of a series. I like my book covers to match so I can imagine how frustrating it must be. However, I have heard a rumour that they might be going back to the original cover for the time but we’ll have to double check.
Thank you. Not going to lie it took my an incredibly long time to actually pick a photo I was happy with haha. Happy holidays!! 😀

What, going back the originals? That is so weird. Why change it in the first place then? Huh.
Ah, thank you, Lois! I hope your holiday was nice. Happy new year! 🙂

I’m always amazed at how different her books are to one another. They’re all so atmospheric and intense and she’s such a great writer. The hype surrounding Truthwitch is insane so I’m trying to contain my high expectations.

Night Owls was a really adorable and heartwarming read! I really enjoyed the romance in the book and how involved their parents were. It’s a really quick read and I hope you get to it at some point! And let me know what you think of Something Real if you end up getting it! I’m keen to know your thoughts since you love I’ll Meet You There so much!

And omg WHAT?! I just realised that I’m not following your blog. WHAT HAVE I BEEN DOING THIS WHOLE TIME?!!

haha I hadn’t even realised that. Just goes to show how observant I am haha.
I always love it when a book has the parents be an actual physical presence in the characters life. I always feel like I need a good contemporary to read after my fantasy binge reading session. The concept to Something Real is what has me nervous and intrigued, it could go either way but after the success that was I’ll Meet You There I have high hopes.:)
